Job summary

Vertas Group is seeking a dedicated Custodian at Moulton CEVC Primary School in Newmarket. The role is 17.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday with early morning and evening shifts across 44 weeks per year. You will help maintain the site, support cleaning duties, and ensure safety standards are met.

Ideal candidates have strong customer service, teamwork, and a willingness to attend training. DBS and safeguarding checks apply in line with our policy, and support for veterans is offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar caretaking/cleaning role.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow Health & Safety guidance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day maintenance and minor repairs.
• Ensure heating, lighting and alarm systems operate correctly.
• Maintain health and safety records and basic checks.
• Monitor site stock and perform cleaning duties.
• Attend training courses including health and safety.
