Job summary

Polaris Education - Ormston School, Headingley, Leeds, is seeking a Caretaker to maintain a safe, clean and secure school environment for pupils aged 5 to 18. You will perform cleaning, basic repairs, porterage and assist with contractors to keep the site well maintained.

The role requires a proactive approach to health and safety, practical DIY ability, and good literacy and numeracy. A full UK driving licence and enhanced DBS check are required; salary is £26,402 per year.

Qualifications

• Health and safety regulations knowledge and practical DIY skills.
• Good literacy and numeracy for documentation and communications.
• Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean, safe and secure school premises, including buildings and grounds.
• Carry out cleaning, minor repairs, porterage and supervision of staff.
• Promote health and safety throughout the school and manage security as main key holder.
• Lock/unlock premises, check windows/doors, and respond to alarms per procedures.
• Arrange larger repairs, obtain quotes, and coordinate with contractors.
