Job summary

Lark Hill Primary School in Stockport seeks a Caretaker to manage daily site operations, opening, maintenance, security and cleaning. You will report major defects to the Headteacher or School Business Manager and engage positively with colleagues, parents and pupils.

The post is 37 hours per week, full-time, for 12 months, starting December 2026, with a fixed term contract and an application deadline of 30 October 2026, 11:59pm. Five weeks holiday is taken in school holidays.

Responsibilities

• The role involves ensuring the site and its buildings are operated on a day to day basis including opening, maintenance, security and cleaning.
• You will also report major defects and issues to the appropriate people - Headteacher / School Business Manager, in accordance with the ethos of the school by positively interacting with colleagues, parents, pupils and other building users.
