Job summary

The Special Partnership Trust seeks a proactive Caretaker for Orchard Manor School in Dawlish. The role focuses on site safety, maintenance and security across buildings and grounds, working with staff and external contractors.

You will perform routine repairs, monitor heating systems and swimming pool operations, assist with risk assessments and ensure compliance with health and safety policies.

Qualifications

• Maintenance and health & safety record-keeping responsibilities.
• Support with risk assessment paperwork and Premises Supervisor guidance.
• Joint key holder duties including alarm operation and site inspections.
• Report defects and liaise with approved contractors or Head of School.
• Carry out gardening duties and winter safety tasks.
• Assist with heating, swimming pool operations, and fleet vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Maintain site security and access control.
• Monitor and maintain daily site safety and cleanliness.
• Assist with evacuations and emergency procedures.
• Coordinate deliveries and porterage as required.
• Attend site meetings and support health, safety and GDPR compliance.
