Job summary

Marshland High School is seeking a motivated and dedicated Caretaker to join the friendly site team. The role ensures premises, contents and grounds are maintained, secured and ready for use, supporting pupils and staff.

Start date ASAP. Hours are 37 per week, 52 weeks per year (Mon–Fri, 10:30–18:00). Salary is Scale C5 (£13.69 per hour, about £26,427 FTE). DBS check required; experience in building maintenance and health and safety compliance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Secure premises and contents; operate alarms; manage key holder duties.
• Ensure heating and lighting systems are working properly.
• Comply with Health and Safety requirements.
• Liaise with contractors and highlight hazards.
• Carry out porterage, minor repairs and cleaning as required.
• Oversee cleaning team and manage stock of consumables.
