Job summary

St Hilda’s CE High School is seeking a dedicated Caretaker to manage security, safety and cleanliness of the school premises. You will be responsible for opening/closing gates and buildings, responding to alarms, and coordinating with the Facilities Manager to keep the site safe and well maintained.

The role involves grounds work, basic repairs, and occasional out-of-hours duties including events setup and budgeted extra payments. Commitment to safeguarding is essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to work to high health and safety standards and COSHH regulations.
• Be willing to undertake First Aid training.

Responsibilities

• Opening/closing gates and buildings; ensure security and safety of premises.
• Respond to alarms and liaise with police/Alarm Company.
• Grounds maintenance including grass cutting and weed removal.
• Daily litter picking and safe handling of waste.
• Prepare rooms and spaces for events and meetings outside school hours.
