Job summary

Mitie is seeking a School Caretaker for Strathdearn Primary School in Tomatin to deliver high standards of premises care and meet service level agreements. You will maintain buildings and grounds, respond to helpdesk requests, unlock/lock facilities and assist with events and room setups.

The role offers 25–35 hours per week at £13.74 per hour, with enhanced DBS checks and safeguarding responsibilities. You will work as part of a team, with the opportunity to develop skills through Mitie’s

Qualifications

• Previous caretaking experience (preferred but not essential).
• Reliable, hardworking, and professional attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Open, honest, self-driven, and determined.
• Commitment to safeguarding and confidentiality, with willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Undertake all required training and follow Mitie's Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental policies.
• Maintain equipment in clean, safe working order and understand all cleaning materials and chemicals used.
• Ensure proper maintenance, cleaning, security, and safety of school premises and grounds.
• Respond to helpdesk jobs, unlock/lock buildings, and carry out porterage and room setups.
• Perform PPM tasks including fire alarm tests, emergency light checks, and support out-of-hours building use.
