Job summary

Integra People Limited is seeking a reliable school caretarker to maintain safe, clean, and welcoming school environments in Harpenden AL5. The role is part-time with specific morning and after-school hours.

The successful candidate will be responsible for opening/closing premises, general maintenance, and assisting with day-to-day running of the school. DBS checks are required for this school-based role.

• Report maintenance issues, damage or health and safety concerns
• Support school with general caretaking duties as required

Key responsibilities:

• Ensuring the school premises are safe, secure and well maintained.
• Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs where required.
• Opening and closing the school premises as needed.
• Ensuring classrooms, corridors and communal areas are tidy and presentable.
• Reporting any maintenance issues, damage or health and safety concerns.
• Supporting the school with general caretaking duties as required.

The ideal candidate will:

• Be reliable, punctual and hardworking.
• Have a practical, hands-on approach to maintenance and problem-solving.
• Be able to work independently and use their initiative.
• Have good attention to detail and a positive attitude.
• Ideally have previous caretaking, maintenance or facilities experience.

As this role is based within a school, the successful candidate will be required to undertake the relevant pre-employment and safeguarding checks, including an enhanced DBS check, as applicable.
