Job summary

ISS Facilities Services is seeking a Catering Assistant in Shoreham-by-Sea. The role is part-time and permanent, with a 11:30–13:30 daily pattern and an hourly rate of £12.71. This position supports school dining services, ensuring healthy meals and a clean, safe dining area.

You will work with a friendly team to prepare and serve meals, follow allergen and dietary requirements, and help maintain high hygiene standards in a school environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering, food service, hospitality, or customer-facing roles is desirable.
• Commitment to safeguarding and delivering excellent service.
• Ability to follow procedures and instructions accurately.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, present, and serve meals.
• Set up and clear dining areas.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness.
• Follow allergen, dietary and special meal requirements.
• Receive, store and handle food deliveries correctly.
• Operate tills where required.
• Report health and safety concerns or equipment faults.
• Provide friendly, professional service to students, staff and visitors.
• Work with the catering team to deliver an excellent customer experience.
