Job summary

ISS Facilities Services is seeking a Catering Assistant at a school site in East Grinstead. You will support the preparation, presentation and serving of meals, help maintain high standards of food safety, and provide friendly service to students, staff and visitors during the lunch period.

This term-time only role offers annualised pay, monthly salary, and working pattern Monday to Friday 11:00–13:30. Prior catering or customer-facing experience is desirable, and you will join a supportive team

Qualifications

Previous experience in a catering, food service, hospitality, or customer-facing role desirable.
Commitment to safeguarding, food safety, and delivering excellent service.
Ability to follow procedures, and instructions accurately.
Positive, reliable, and team-focused approach.

Responsibilities

Support the preparation, presentation, and serving of meals.
Set up and clear dining areas as required.
Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness.
Follow allergen, dietary, and special meal requirements.
Receive, store, and handle food deliveries correctly.
Operate tills where required.
Report any health and safety concerns, accidents, or equipment faults.
Provide a friendly and professional service to students, staff, and visitors.
Work collaboratively as part of the catering team to deliver an excellent customer experience.
