Job summary

Greenacre School in Barnsley is seeking an inspiring Vocational Café Manager to lead a brand new, commercially sustainable school café. You will balance everyday cafe operations with a structured, education-focused vocational program for pupils, creating a welcoming environment while ensuring high standards of food quality and service.

This role involves managing finances, stock, pricing and supplier negotiations in line with Trust regulations, while recruiting and developing a reliable team.

Qualifications

• Experience in a management or supervisory role within hospitality or catering.
• Qualifications in hospitality or business management.
• Experience training and motivating a diverse team.
• Experience working with learners with additional needs (SEN) or safeguarding knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily café operations with high standards of food quality, service, menu development and presentation.
• Create a welcoming, inclusive cafe experience for all customers and the school community.
• Deliver hands-on vocational training to pupils across cafe functions (food prep, service, cleaning).
• Manage café finances, stock control, pricing, inventory, supplier negotiations and cashless systems.
• Recruit, build and manage a reliable team of cafe staff.
