Job summary

West Sussex County Council is expanding its Mental Health Support Team and inviting Mental Health Practitioners to work with children and young people in schools, delivering CBT‑based interventions. You will collaborate with families, schools and other professionals, keep accurate records, manage caseloads, participate in safeguarding activities and attend multi‑disciplinary meetings.

The post requires travel across the county and includes training toward the PGCert Supervision of Therapeutic

Qualifications

• Experience of delivering CBT‑based interventions for children/young people.
• Ability to carry out mental health assessments and manage risk.
• Strong record keeping, safeguarding compliance and data handling.

Responsibilities

• Provide CBT‑informed mental health support to schools, families and external services.
• Keep clear records, case files, assessments and data.
• Attend multi‑disciplinary and multi‑agency meetings and follow safeguarding protocols.
• Travel across the county to perform assessments and deliver interventions.
