Job summary

Mind in West Essex is seeking an Educational Mental Health Practitioner to deliver low-intensity CBT-based support for children, young people and parents in education settings. The role includes running group sessions, assessing risk, and contributing to a whole-school approach to mental health.

You will work with diverse families and collaborate with schools and community partners, under supervision, to improve wellbeing and educational outcomes. BABCP/BPS registration eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• PG Dip Educational Mental Health Practitioner is required.
• Registered with BABCP or BPS, or eligible for registration.
• Valid UK driving licence and/or access to transport.
• Able to travel to multiple venues in a day.

Responsibilities

• Deliver low-intensity CBT-based interventions to children, young people and parents for anxiety, low mood and challenging behaviour.
• Run evidence-based group sessions for pupils, parents and carers, and FE students.
• Assess and deliver outcome-focused guided self-help under supervision.
• Assess risk and refer complex cases to specialist services.
• Support education staff to identify and manage mental health and wellbeing issues.
