The SHS Family Support Practitioner (School-Based) is based at The Grange Academy, Bushey, working within the Family Intervention team to support pupils and families. You will deliver a programme of casework aimed at improving educational outcomes and attendance, working closely with school staff to promote engagement in learning.

• Experience in an education setting or similar to improve a child’s school attendance and engagement
• Ability to engage with parents/carers, children or individuals through individual and/or group-based support
• Factors affecting a child’s capacity to learn
• Working with families from diverse communities
• Holistic family support and safeguarding processes knowledge

Responsibilities

• Deliver a programme of casework to promote and improve educational outcomes for the children and their families
• Focus support to improve attendance, punctuality and engagement in learning
• Work in close partnership with school staff to deliver the programme of support
• Build excellent relationships with a wide range of stakeholders in schools and communities
