Job summary

South Ayrshire Council is seeking a dedicated individual to relieve teachers of non-teaching duties and assist with classroom administration and materials preparation. You will support the learning activities of children under the direction of teachers and other colleagues, and help pupils with additional support needs, including those with physical difficulties and challenging behaviour.

This role is regulated work under PVG requirements; successful candidates will be required to join the PVG

Qualifications

• This post is Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the PVG Act 2007; candidate must become a PVG Scheme member or be updated if already a member.
• PVG costs may be incurred by the applicant.

Responsibilities

• Relieve teachers of non-teaching duties including classroom administration and preparation of teaching materials.
• Support the learning activities of children under the direction of the classroom teacher and other colleagues.
• Support pupils with additional support needs of a wide nature including physical difficulties and challenging behaviour.
