Job summary

South Ayrshire Council is seeking a dedicated classroom support assistant to relieve teachers of non-teaching duties and help with administration and materials. You will support learning activities under direction and assist pupils with additional support needs, including physical challenges and behavioural cues.

The role requires PVG scheme membership or update and registration with the SSSC within 6 months of employment.

Qualifications

• Experience of supporting children or pupils in an educational setting.
• Willingness to undertake PVG Scheme checks.
• Registration with the SSSC within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Relieve teachers of non-teaching duties and classroom administration.
• Assist with preparation of teaching materials and other practical tasks.
• Support pupils with additional support needs, including physical difficulties and challenging behaviour.
