Job summary

Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust is seeking a Band 6 speech and language therapist for the school-aged team within Lewisham's children’s services. The role involves assessing and managing children with complex needs and delivering targeted support across Watergate Special School and mainstream schools.

The successful candidate will hold HCPC registration and RCSLT membership, with experience in school settings and a commitment to evidence-based practices, care pathways, and service integration.

Qualifications

• Recognised speech and language therapy degree or equivalent.
• HCPC registration to practise.
• RCSLT membership.
• Post-qualification experience with children across a range of needs.
• Experience working in schools and engaging them in interventions.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage children with speech, language and communication needs.
• Provide support across special and mainstream schools.
• Split time between Watergate Special School and mainstream schools.
• Develop and evaluate specialist teaching packages within caseload.
• Collaborate with education staff and parents.
