Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is helping a thriving Reading secondary school recruit a School Administrator to support staff, students, parents and senior leaders. The role covers front-of-house contact, diary management, records, safeguarding paperwork and GDPR-compliant administration.

You will work as part of a structured, fast-paced team in a calm school environment. We seek an organised, detail-oriented candidate with excellent communication and IT skills, comfortable multitasking and handling

Qualifications

  • Previous administration experience, preferably in a school.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital systems.
  • Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as first point of contact for parents, visitors and external agencies.
  • Manage telephone, email and face-to-face enquiries professionally.
  • Maintain accurate student records on the school MIS (Arbor/SIMS).
  • Support attendance processes and safeguarding documentation.
  • Coordinate meetings, room bookings and SLT diaries.
  • Produce reports, letters and communications for senior leaders.
  • Assist with admissions paperwork and transition documentation.
  • Support school events, open evenings, and parents’ evenings.
  • Maintain filing systems and ensure GDPR compliance.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

Role Overview

We are seeking a School Administrator to play a key role in the smooth running of our school office. You will provide high-quality administrative and organisational support to staff, students, parents, and senior leaders, ensuring that daily operations run efficiently and professionally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the first point of contact for parents, visitors, and external agencies
