Job summary

Orion Electrotech Ltd is seeking a detail-oriented Scheduler in Kettering to plan and coordinate the daily activities of a nationwide team of field-based engineers. You will allocate jobs effectively, optimise engineer diaries, and ensure customers receive high-quality service throughout the process.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule engineer visits, installations, maintenance and service appointments.
• Manage engineer workloads and diaries to maximise efficiency and coverage.
• Liaise with customers regarding appointments, updates and progress.
• Prioritise urgent and reactive requests while maintaining schedules.
• Monitor progress and adjust schedules to meet timescales.
• Maintain accurate records using scheduling and CRM systems.
• Coordinate with customers and internal teams to meet SLAs.
• Resolve scheduling conflicts and address delays proactively.

Scheduler
Location: Kettering
Salary: £27,000 - £30,000
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

The Role – Scheduler

You will be responsible for planning, coordinating and managing the daily activities of a team of field-based engineers operating nationwide. You will ensure jobs are allocated effectively, engineer diaries are fully optimised, and customers receive a high level of service throughout the process.

Working closely with engineers, customers and internal departments, you will prioritise reactive and planned works, manage changing schedules, and ensure all service activities are completed efficiently and within agreed timescales.

Key Responsibilities – Scheduler

• Plan and schedule engineer visits, installations, maintenance and service appointments.
• Manage engineer workloads and diaries to maximise efficiency and geographical coverage.
• Liaise with customers regarding appointments, updates and job progress.
• Prioritise urgent and reactive requests whilst maintaining scheduled works.
• Monitor engineer progress throughout the day and amend schedules where required.
• Maintain accurate records using internal scheduling and CRM systems.
• Coordinate with customers and internal teams to ensure service level agreements are achieved.
• Resolve scheduling conflicts and proactively address potential delays.

Requirements – Scheduler

• Previous experience within a scheduling, planning, coordination or customer service role.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience liaising directly with customers and field-based personnel.
• Good IT skills and confidence using scheduling, service management or CRM systems.
• Experience working within a service, engineering, logistics or operational environment would be advantageous.
