Job summary

Isle of Wight NHS Trust is seeking a Ward Manager for the SCBU, Band 7, on a permanent, full-time basis (37.5 hours per week). You will lead the nursing team, ensure a safe and compassionate care environment and act as a professional role model for high clinical standards.

The role requires strong leadership, effective staff development and a clear focus on enhancing patient experience while embedding the Trust’s vision and values into everyday practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the nursing team on a 24-hour basis for the clinical area.
• Ensure delivery of a safe, effective, responsive, caring and well-led service with a positive patient experience.
• Provide professional clinical and managerial leadership to nursing staff.
• Lead development and evaluation of programmes of care.
• Maintain visibility and access to senior staff for patients and colleagues.
• Develop ward philosophy and models of care aligned with trust policies and values.
