Job summary

Isle of Wight NHS Trust is recruiting a Matron for the Special Care Baby Unit on a full-time basis, Band 8a (£57,528 - £64,750 per annum). The role involves leading nursing, midwifery and AHPs across the Care Group and delivering safe, compassionate care with cost effectiveness.

The successful candidate will collaborate across Isle of Wight NHS Trust and Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust, driving the Trust’s vision of working together and improving together.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with live NMC registration.
• Educated to bachelor’s degree level in Nursing, Midwifery, Leadership and Management or an Allied Health Professional degree.
• Registered Allied Health Professional, or Pharmacist with live registration with the Registering Authority.
• Management qualification or relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead nursing, midwifery and AHPs within Special Care Baby Unit.
• Deliver safe, cost-effective, compassionate care with assurance to Head of Nursing & Quality.
• Manage Senior Sisters, Charge Nurses, Team Leaders and some AHPs within the services.
• Lead clinical services in the Care Group.
• Provide credible, visible leadership to nursing and midwifery staff.
