Job summary

NHS Ayrshire & Arran is offering a fixed-term opportunity for a Scan for Safety Administrator at University Hospital Ayr. The role covers managing the Scan for Safety Module within the Theatre Complex, with responsibility for implants across ophthalmology and orthopaedics, including reporting via OPERA.

The post requires on-the-job training across specialties, with leadership in training colleagues and coordinating enquiries with NHS services and external suppliers.

Qualifications

• Educated to HNC/HND level or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work with a range of specialties and provide on-the-job training for the scan for safety system.
• Ability to problem solve and direct enquiries to the correct teams including National Distribution Centre and external supply companies.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Scan for Safety Module within the Theatre Complex.
• Track, trace and re-order implants in ophthalmology, orthopaedics and other specialties as required.
• Pull reports for clinical staff using the Theatre Administrative System (OPERA).
• Provide lead on training colleagues on scan for safety processes and technology as training grade doctors rotate through services.
