Job summary

NHS Ayrshire and Arran invites applications for a part-time Scan for Safety Administrator role based at University Hospital Ayr. The post involves managing the Scan for Safety Module within the Theatre Complex and generating reports from the Theatre Administrative System (OPERA) for clinical staff.

You will lead training on scan for safety processes, coordinate implant tracking across specialties, and liaise with the National Distribution Centre and external suppliers as needed.

Position

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Scan for Safety Administrator based at University Hospital Ayr.

Hours And Shift Pattern

2x 21.6 hours per week

Monday to Friday 8am-4pm working 3 days per week

This post is offered on a fixed term basis for 12 months.

What You Will Do

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Administrator/Stock Controller to manage the Scan for Safety Module within the Theatre Complex. There is significant responsibility for tracking, tracing and re-ordering of implants in ophthalmology, orthopaedics and other specialties as required. The post holder will also be able to work with the Theatre Administrative System (OPERA) pulling reports for clinical staff as required. It is expected that the post holder will take on a lead on training colleagues on the scan for safety processes and technology which will be an ongoing task as training grade doctors rotate through services.

Knowledge, Training And/or Experience Required For This Post
  • Educated to HNC/HND level or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work with a range of specialties and procedure which will require on the job training e.g. implementation of the new scan for safety system.
  • Ability to problem solve and direct enquiries to the correct teams including National Distribution Centre and external supply companies.
