Job summary

HM Revenue & Customs is seeking a Developer to join the Valuation Office’s digital services team. The role focuses on delivering high-quality software within an Agile DevOps environment, contributing to transformation projects and building scalable microservices.

You will work in a multi-disciplinary delivery team under guidance from senior developers, applying TDD and best practices to meet user needs and HMRC standards.

Qualifications

• Experience building software in an agile team.
• Proficient in Scala for server-side and frontend.
• Experience with backend microservices architecture.
• Strong knowledge of unit testing and TDD.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins).
• Experience with Git and source control workflows.
• Knowledge of MVC frameworks (Spring, Play).
• Experience in agile software development with user-centred design.
• Awareness of observability tools (Kibana, Grafana, GTM).
• Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo).
