Job summary

HM Revenue & Customs is seeking a role within Tooling & Automation to support cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and secure access management. The candidate will contribute to live services, automation, and incident resolution in a complex, collaborative environment.

Ideal applicants have experience with AWS, CI/CD, and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, AWX, Ansible, Nexus, and Vault, with strong troubleshooting and communication skills.

Qualifications

Experience supporting live IT services or operational tech environments.
Strong knowledge of AWS cloud, operating systems and networking.
Exposure to CI/CD, automation, source control, or secrets management.
Methodical troubleshooting and attention to detail.
Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Understanding of Agile, DevOps, or ITIL ways of working.
Direct experience with Jenkins, GitLab, AWX, Ansible, Nexus or Vault.
Experience using ServiceNow or Jira.
Relevant certifications (Cloud, Linux, DevOps, or ITIL).

Responsibilities

Maintain live services and perform routine operational checks.
Troubleshoot incidents and resolve service requests.
Administer user access and onboarding requests securely.
Create and maintain runbooks, support procedures, and user guidance.
Support controlled technical changes, service migrations, and stabilization.
