Job summary

Careerwise seeks experienced Data Engineers to support a large-scale data exploitation programme within a UK public sector/government context. You will work in a Talend framework, building and maintaining ETL pipelines while supporting Oracle RDS databases and CI/CD processes.

You will design and maintain ETL solutions with Talend, craft Oracle SQL artefacts, contribute to CI/CD (GitLab) and mentor junior team members in an enterprise environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience designing, developing and maintaining ETL solutions using Talend.
• Strong Oracle SQL skills and experience with Oracle RDS preferred.
• Experience in CI/CD pipeline development and enhancements, especially with GitLab.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot defects across dev/test environments.
• Experience with test data creation and management.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain ETL solutions using Talend.
• Develop and maintain Oracle SQL and DDL artefacts.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline development and enhancements, particularly GitLab.
• Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve defects across development and testing environments.
• Carry out component testing and manage test data.
• Support QA, performance testing and production releases.
• Peer reviews of development and testing artefacts.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and support cross-team collaboration.
