Job summary

Catering in Telford is seeking an experienced Data Engineer on a 6-month contract. The role requires delivering ETL solutions and managing Oracle databases within a secure government environment.

You will join an Agile delivery team, contributing to design, development, testing, deployment and production support while mentoring junior engineers and supporting CI/CD improvements.

Qualifications

• Active SC Clearance (transferable within a UK Government environment)
• Strong ETL development experience, ideally with Talend
• Experience with alternative ETL tools such as Pentaho or Informatica considered
• Strong Oracle RDS and SQL development experience
• Experience creating and maintaining database objects and DDL scripts
• Experience working within Agile delivery teams
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with version control and CI/CD tooling, ideally GitLab

Responsibilities

Telford / Hybrid (Approx. 2 days per month onsite)
£450 per day (Inside IR35)

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join a growing delivery team working on a high-profile data exploitation programme within a secure government environment. This is an excellent opportunity to work on large-scale data integration and transformation projects, helping to deliver critical data capabilities using Talend and Oracle technologies.

You’ll be joining a collaborative Agile team, contributing throughout the full development lifecycle, from design and development through to testing, deployment, and production support.

What You’ll Be Doing
