Job summary

TXP Technology x People seeks a Talend Data Engineer for a 6-month contract, primarily remote with monthly travel to Telford or Worthing. SC eligible, option to collect equipment in London/Manchester/Telford.

You will design, develop, and maintain ETL pipelines within Talend, work with Oracle RDS databases, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines. Responsibilities include building Talend ETL solutions, writing SQL, optimizing CI/CD with GitLab, testing, and mentoring junior colleagues.

Qualifications

• Hands-on ETL development using Talend.
• Experience with Oracle databases (ideally Oracle RDS).
• Strong SQL development and data modelling skills.
• Familiar with SDLC environments and testing practices.
• Experience with CI/CD tools, preferably GitLab.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work in Agile teams and participate in ceremonies.
• Eligible for SC clearance and BPSS screening.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL solutions using Talend.
• Build and optimize Oracle SQL queries and DDL artefacts.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines with GitLab.
• Troubleshoot defects across development and testing phases.
• Create test data and perform component/unit testing.
• Support QA, performance testing, and production releases.
• Conduct peer reviews of artefacts and code.
• Provide mentoring to junior team members.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver programme objectives.
