Autism Bedfordshire is seeking a part-time Support Worker to provide direct support to children, young people and individuals using our services. The role involves assisting with activities, ensuring safety and wellbeing, and working under the guidance of senior staff.

The position emphasises safeguarding, following policies, and promoting a positive experience for participants. Prior experience with autistic individuals and relevant childcare or health/social care training are desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable individuals
• Understanding of safeguarding and health & safety responsibilities
• Ability to follow policies, procedures and guidance
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Professional, reliable and supportive approach
• Experience supporting autistic individuals
• First Aid and safeguarding training

Responsabilités

• Carry out duties in line with Autism Bedfordshire’s Policies and Procedures, Activity Programmes, Risk Assessments and Behaviour Management Strategies.
• Assist with the set-up, delivery and clear-down of scheduled activities.
• Facilitate and engage in activities with our young people and families.
• Promote safeguarding and report concerns to the Safeguarding Officer.
