Job summary

Airbus Defence and Space Limited in Stevenage is seeking a Satellite Technician (Electrical/Mechanical) to join our team to assemble, integrate, and test cutting‑edge satellite systems. You will apply advanced manufacturing techniques to ensure spacecraft meet the highest quality before launch.

The role requires hands-on experience in electrical and mechanical assembly, testing, harness routing, soldering, crimping, bonding and structural installation, with readiness to travel for off‑site

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical and mechanical assembly, testing, preferably in aerospace/high‑reliability manufacturing.
• Practical production techniques including soldering, crimping, harness routing, bonding, torqueing, drilling and shimming.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and job cards for first‑level inspections.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical assembly, integration, and modification of systems, including harness routing, connections, soldering and crimping.
• Execute mechanical assembly and integration tasks, using bonding, torqueing, drilling, shimming and unit installation.
• Conduct basic electrical tests (continuity, bonding, insulation, DC high voltage) and install test equipment.
• Carry out first‑level quality inspections and identify opportunities for improvement on the shop floor.
• Work from technical instructions, work orders and test procedures to deliver completed assemblies with documentation.
• Support off‑site testing and launch site activities, including working at heights.
