SAP Application Support Specialist

Location: Surrey (hybrid)

SystemsAccountants is currently working with a SAP S/4HANA client seeking an ERP Applications Engineer to assist in their SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud implementation and provide support for the SAP ERP system and other key applications. The successful candidate will ensure the SAP ERP system is fully administered, supported, and optimized.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day support for the SAP S/4HANA system, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
  • Act as the main point of contact for SAP support, assisting users with technical issues and providing training.
  • Monitor SAP system performance and ensure core applications are stable and reliable.
  • Manage and resolve incidents promptly.
  • Handle Customer Influence requests and communicate upcoming third-party releases to facilitate process optimization and improvement.
  • Perform regular system maintenance, including updates, patches, and backups.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with IT teams and business stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and operation of the ERP system.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to identify opportunities for system improvements and implement enhancements.
  • Optimize performance and user experience.
  • Manage change effectively, documenting all changes to the system.
  • Develop work packages for future system development and enhancements to improve operational efficiency.
  • Assist in supporting other applications used and other tasks as directed by the IT Service Delivery Manager.

Role Requirements:

  • Degree in Computing, Information Security, or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of experience in ERP administration and support roles.
  • Ability to attain and hold National Security Vetting to at least SC level.
  • ITIL, CISA, CISSP certifications are advantageous but not required.
  • Expertise in incident management, troubleshooting, and system performance monitoring.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud edition.
  • Proficiency in SAP S/4HANA ERP system administration and support.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based SAP environments (AWS/Azure).
  • Familiarity with SAP integration tools (SAP PO/PI, CPI) is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Strong understanding of ERP system architecture and integration.
  • Experience with system monitoring tools and techniques.
  • Knowledge of incident management and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis experience.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to security.
  • Experience managing and administering cloud environments.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills; a team player.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in busy environments.
