SAP Application Support Specialist

Location: Surrey (hybrid)

SystemsAccountants are currently working with a SAP S/4HANA client seeking an ERP Applications Engineer to assist in their SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud implementation and provide support for the SAP ERP system and other key applications. The successful candidate will ensure the SAP ERP system is fully administered, supported, and optimised.

Role Responsibilities
  • Providing day-to-day support for the SAP S/4HANA system, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
  • Acting as main point of contact for SAP support, assisting users with technical issues and providing them with training.
  • Monitor SAP system performance and ensuring the core applications are stable and reliable.
  • Manage and resolve incidents in a timely manner.
  • Manage Customer Influence requests and internally communicate 3rd party upcoming releases to facilitate process optimisation and improvement.
  • Perform regular system maintenance tasks, including any necessary updates, patches, and backups.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Work closely with other IT teams and business stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and operation of the ERP system.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to identify opportunities for system improvements and implement enhancements.
  • Optimise performance and user experience.
  • Perform effective change management, documenting changes to the system.
  • Develop work packages for future development and enhancements to the system to help improve the smooth operation of the system and improve efficiency of business.
  • Assist in the support of other applications used and other tasks as directed by the IT Service Delivery Manager.
Role Requirements
  • Degree in Computing/ Information Security or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of experience in ERP related administration and support roles.
  • Must be able to attain and hold National Security Vetting to a minimum of SC level.
  • ITIL, CISA, CISSP an advantage but not required.
  • Expertise in incident management, troubleshooting, and system performance monitoring.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud edition.
  • Proficiency in SAP S/4HANA ERP System administration and support.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based SAP environments (AWS/Azure).
  • Familiarity with SAP integration tools (SAP PO/PI, CPI) beneficial, but not required.
  • Strong understanding of ERP system architecture and integration.
  • Experience with system monitoring tools and techniques.
  • Knowledge of incident management and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Able to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including demonstrated experience with root cause analysis.
  • Attention to detail and pro-active approach to security.
  • Experience of managing and administering cloud environments.
  • Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under own initiative and in busy environments.
