Job summary

Oxford Population Health at the University of Oxford is seeking a Sample Management Assistant to assist with the receipt and storage of biological study samples and general laboratory housekeeping under the guidance of senior laboratory staff.

You will follow standard operating procedures to assist with sample reception, transport of samples and sample retrievals and storage, as well as operating procedures to support maintenance and testing of equipment and to support an emergency on call rota.

Qualifications

• GCSEs including English and Maths are required.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work as part of a team and perform repetitive tasks accurately.

Responsibilities

• Assist with receipt and storage of biological samples.
• Receive, transport and retrieve samples as needed.
• Store samples and support maintenance of equipment per SOPs.
• Assist with emergency on-call rota as required.
