Job summary

Oxford Population Health at the University of Oxford's Nuffield Department of Population Health is seeking a Sample Management Assistant to help with sample receipt, transport, storage and routine laboratory housekeeping in the Wolfson Laboratory.

The role emphasizes following SOPs, attention to detail, and teamwork. It is a full-time post (80% FT considered) for 2 years, with a closing date of 12 noon on Thursday 15 October 2026.

Qualifications

• GCSEs including English and Maths required.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work as part of a team.
• Willingness to carry out repetitive tasks accurately.

Responsibilities

• Assist with sample reception, transport, retrievals and storage following SOPs.
• Support receipt and storage of biological study samples and general lab housekeeping.
• Assist with maintenance and testing of equipment and participate in on-call rota.
