Job summary

Oxford Population Health at the University of Oxford is seeking a Sample Management Assistant to assist with the receipt and storage of biological study samples and general laboratory housekeeping under the guidance of senior laboratory staff.

You will follow standard operating procedures to assist with sample reception, transport of samples and sample retrievals and storage, as well as operating procedures to support maintenance and testing of equipment and to support an emergency on call rota.

Qualifications

• GCSEs including English and Maths are required.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work as part of a team and perform repetitive tasks accurately.

Job description

We are seeking a Sample Management Assistant to work in the NDPH Wolfson Laboratory and help with the receipt and storage of biological study samples and general laboratory housekeeping duties under the guidance of the senior laboratory staff.

Your main responsibilities will be to follow standard operating procedures to assist with sample reception, transport of samples and sample retrievals and storage, as well as operating procedures to support maintenance and testing of equipment and to support an emergency on call rota.

Minimum of three GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths with an excellent attention to detail and proven ability to work effectively as part of a team and carry out repetitive tasks to a high degree of accuracy would be essential for this post.
