Government Recruitment Service seeks an experienced Salmonella Technical Officer to support the Salmonella strategy across UK laboratories. You will audit Defra/APHA approved labs, oversee NCP testing performance, and liaise with UKAS, DALs, and the NRL to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

The role requires travel to multiple sites in the UK, delivering training, reporting, and specialist input on ISO17025/17043 quality systems.

Qualificações

• Experience auditing laboratories to Defra/APHA standards.
• Ability to write reports and provide training.
• Liaison with UKAS, DALs and NRL teams.
• Knowledge of CSPO/TARP/NCP testing programs.
• Willingness to travel across the UK.

Responsabilidades

• Provide external and internal auditing, training, and advisory services for APHA and DALs at multiple locations across the UK.
• Plan and conduct auditing to monitor compliance with Defra and APHA procedures for approved laboratories, relevant International Standards and to facilitate improvements in business processes.
• Provide oversight of the performance of Defra-approved Salmonella testing laboratories, primarily those testing NCP samples under CSPO, but also those testing PHS samples under TARP.
• Liaise with disease and test consultants, UKAS, and APHA teams to deliver expert appraisal of laboratory approvals.
• Provide audits (and reports) of laboratories across multiple sites in the UK.
• Collation and analysis of approved laboratory test data including VETQAS proficiency testing.
• Contribute to an annual ring trial for approved laboratories.
• Coordinate and advise on quality assurance procedures and training across DALs.
