Role Overview
If you are an experienced technical Sales Leader who thrives on developing talent, driving process discipline, and closing business in the field, the role of Sales Trainer at Geobear could be the perfect fit.
In this vital player-coach role, you will accelerate the onboarding, performance, and commercial growth of over 50 Area Managers across our global markets (UK, Nordics, Ireland, Poland, UAE, and USA). Operating across both our Residential (RESI) and Commercial/Infrastructure (C/I) sectors, you will own our structured onboarding tracks, run 1:1 coaching cycles, design high-impact KPI suites, and ensure flawless Salesforce discipline.
To stay credible and connected to field reality, you will also lead from the front by periodically running live sales visits and closing projects alongside the team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Onboarding & Continuous Sales Coaching
- Onboarding Execution: Accelerate the onboarding process for new sales area managers in the UK and internationally. Working with local sales leadership, customer service and engineering teams to upskill new recruits and get them customer ready sooner.
- Tailored Coaching Cycles: Run structured 1:1 and group coaching programs for Area Managers and Team Leaders across global markets, adapting your approach to individual development gaps.
- Player-Coach Credibility: Periodically shadow and run live customer visits and sales calls to stay sharp, validate field reality, and close deals directly.
2. Performance Management & KPI Suite Design
- KPI Suite Architecture: Design, implement, and refine the sales organisation’s KPI suite in close partnership with Sales Directors and local Managing Directors.
- Performance Pathways: Assess team performance against KPIs, using data to feed underperformance into structured performance-improvement pathways.
- Reporting ROI: Provide senior leadership (Sales Directors, MDs, COO, CEO) with clear reporting on team progress, pipeline health, and training return-on-investment.
3. Process Discipline & Collateral Creation
- CRM Integration: Ensure Salesforce usage drives daily sales process discipline, improving pipeline hygiene, qualification stages, and forecasting accuracy.
- Reusable Playbooks: Produce clear, standardised sales collateral including playbooks, process maps, visit frameworks, objection-handling guides, and SOPs that teams can pick up and run with independently.
- Training material generation: Own and continuously improve our Residential (31 modules) and Commercial / Infrastructure (22 modules) trainings within our established Learning Management System
Qualifications & Key Requirements
- Direct Sales Track Record: Personal history of successful direct sales performance, ideally within a technical, solution-sold, or engineering-led sector.
- Sales Team Leadership: Proven experience managing technical sales teams, including a track record of driving measurable revenue growth and managing under performance through structured improvement processes.
- Technical Coaching Capability: Demonstrated experience training and coaching technical/complex sales teams (beyond basic soft-skills training) across both 1:1 and group environments.
- CRM & Process Mastery: Deep working knowledge of CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred), with a passion for embedding pipeline discipline, stage qualification, and account planning.
- KPI & Collateral Design: Prior experience building and rolling out sales KPI suites alongside re-usable playbooks, SOPs, and training collateral.
- International & Digital Experience (Desirable): Experience deploying digital/LMS-based training programs or working across multi-market international sales teams (Europe, Middle East, North America) is advantageous.
- Mobility & Commitment: Based in the UK with full flexibility for periodic domestic and international travel across Geobear’s operating markets.
