Job summary

BMC Recruitment Group are recruiting for a Sales Team Leader for their client in Newton Aycliffe. You will lead the Business Development and Account Management team, balancing leadership with hands-on account management to hit targets and grow customer relationships.

The role focuses on coaching, development, and performance management, with a modern office, free parking, and ongoing training opportunities. Salary ranges from £40,000 to £45,000 with OTE £50,000 to £55,000.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' sales experience in a business development/account management environment.
• Minimum 3 years' experience leading sales teams.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
• Experience in KPI-driven, commission-based environments.
• Strong communication and motivational abilities.
• Experience using CRM systems and sales performance reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, motivate, and develop the Business Development and Account Management team.
• Set clear performance expectations and manage team KPIs and sales targets.
• Conduct daily one-to-one meetings to review priorities, opportunities and challenges.
• Monitor individual and team performance, providing regular feedback and support.
• Address underperformance through coaching and development plans.
• Manage and grow an allocated customer base and process quotations/orders.
