Job description

Sales Support Team Leader
Maternity Cover | 12 Month Contract
£30,773 + OTE £9,000
A little bit about us

We are a tech business that bundles household bills into one fixed monthly payment. One payment means easier finances, less time on the phone with suppliers, and less admin. It’s a game-changer.

It’s also a gorgeous place to work. Everybody gets stuck in to make things work, the team will make you feel welcome from day one, and the office is near some pretty great pubs.

Our people scored us a whopping 9.3 out of 10 for “I recommend One Utility Bill as a place to work” in our last employee engagement survey.

What you’ll be doing?

As part of our Sales Support team, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day performance of our Sales Support Team of around 7-10 people, while delivering on your own personal KPIs. We expect the split will be around 30% managing your own tasks alongside the team, such as utility registrations and meter issues, and 70% team management and leadership, including process improvements.

This role is unique in its hybrid nature, where you are managing the admin & back end, but also on the frontline with our current and soon-to-be customers, to ensure they have the best experience as they move through the complete customer journey. The team’s tasks will range from supporting and servicing both our B2B letting agent customers, as well as our B2C rental and homeowner customers while understanding how as a business we identify, attract, and convert leads to sales.

Reporting into the Executive Assistant to the Growth & Sales Director, you will be joining a motivated team with ambitious targets to help One Utility Bill on its growth journey.

  • Raising absences on behalf of team members and conducting return to work meetings

  • Rota management

  • Holding one-to-one sessions with team members

  • Leading weekly team meetings for training, to discuss updates within the company, and any actions that need to be carried forward

  • Coaching, recruiting, training, and onboarding team members

  • Representing the company's objectives to your team, building plans to deliver these objectives, and motivating your team to exceed expectations as well as adjusting goals as needed

  • Working to reduce the time taken on recurring tasks by increasing automation and reviewing processes

  • Developing and implementing new sales initiatives and strategies

  • Completing team performance analysis as well as weekly and monthly reporting on KPIs

  • Quality Assurance Call monitoring

  • Being the first point of contact for the team for advice on handling difficult customer queries and escalations

  • Updating our internal CRM accurately and ensuring detailed notes are made after every contact with a customer

  • Creating training documents for the Sales Support team

  • Working closely with team leaders and managers from other departments to improve internal processes with a goal to increase revenue per Growth head

  • Delegating tasks and setting deadlines to ensure company goals and projects are achieved

A little bit about you

If the list below describes you, make sure you hit apply!

  • Ability to multi-task and move between tasks using prioritisation

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential

  • Must be self-motivated and have a positive attitude

  • Fantastic organisational and time management skills

  • People management skills to develop your team and improve their performance

  • Problem-solving skills

  • Confident phone manner

  • Resilience, understanding, patience, and empathy

What you’ll get from us

£30,773 and an annual uplift to say thanks each April

An additional £9,000 on target earnings

25 days holiday each year on top of bank holidays plus the option to buy or sell 5 days

Our shiny employee benefits platform, Magpie, will be yours to use from day one

Enhanced Pension Contributions once you’ve been with us for 3 years

️ Free independent mortgage advice from Charles Cameron & Associates

Cycle to work scheme

Up to £1500 for direct business benefit learning of your choice

Doing our bit for the community and giving back to local businesses and charities is really important to us. We have lots of company events to raise money for local charities and are proud sponsors of our neighbours Ouseburn Community Farm which means we get to walk their goats
