Job summary

Office Angels in Tunbridge Wells is seeking a Sales Support Engineer to join a growing team. You will support the sales and delivery teams by delivering accurate, competitive, and technically robust estimates for Building Management System projects.

The role is office-based with 8:30am–5:30pm hours and a potential for 1 day hybrid working after probation. 30k–35k per annum with benefits including pension, private medical insurance, and more.

Qualifications

• Essential: Proven experience within Building Management Systems (BMS), controls, HVAC, or wider building services industry.
• Desirable: Experience preparing quotations, estimates, tenders, or proposals for technical projects.
• Essential: Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and precise cost estimates from drawings, specifications, schedules and tender documentation.
• Analyse hardware, software, installation, commissioning and labour requirements to create comprehensive solutions.
• Conduct site surveys (via train/team expenses paid) to gather technical information and assess project needs.
• Produce professional quotations, proposals and tender submissions to a high standard.
• Balance competitiveness with profitability to maintain margins while pursuing new opportunities.
• Liaise with suppliers, manufacturers and subcontractors for accurate information.
• Stay updated on BMS technologies, pricing, market trends and competitor activity.
• Maintain regular contact with prospective customers and follow up on quotations and proposals to maximise conversion.

In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in supporting the sales and delivery teams by delivering accurate, competitive, and technically robust estimates for Building Management System projects.

What You'll Do:

• Prepare detailed and precise cost estimates from drawings, specifications, schedules, and tender documentation.

• Represent the organisation professionally at customer meetings, networking events, exhibitions, and industry functions.
• Ensure all opportunities, quotations, customer interactions, and sales activities are accurately recorded within company systems.
• Prepare successful projects for handover and ensure a smooth transition to the delivery team.

• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and tender documentation (Essential).
