JBC Resourcing is seeking a Sales Manager / Business Development Manager for a Yorkshire-based client. The role focuses on developing new business in steel processing and fabrication, and strengthening existing customer relationships.

You will engage with engineering, manufacturing and procurement teams across manufacturing and construction sectors, manage quotations, and grow a structured sales pipeline toward longer-term strategic accounts.

Qualifications

• Previous B2B sales experience within steel, metal processing, fabrication, engineering or a closely related sector.
• Good understanding of manufacturing and technical sales environments.
• Proven ability to develop new business as well as grow existing accounts.

Responsibilities

• Developing new business opportunities across the steel processing and fabrication market
• Managing and growing existing customer accounts
• Building relationships with engineering, manufacturing and procurement contacts

Our client is an established processing and profiling business based in Yorkshire, providing a broad range of services including laser cutting, precision profiling and post-cutting / finishing.

As part of continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Sales Manager / Business Development Manager to develop new business, strengthen existing customer relationships and help drive the commercial growth of the business.

The role

This would suit someone with a strong sales background within steel, metal processing, fabrication, profiling, sheet metal or a closely related engineering/manufacturing environment.

The role will combine account development with proactive new business activity, working with customers across manufacturing, engineering, construction and related sectors.

Key responsibilities include

• Developing new business opportunities across the steel processing and fabrication market

Person specification

• Previous B2B sales experience within steel, metal processing, fabrication, engineering or a closely related sector
• Good understanding of manufacturing and technical sales environments
• Proven ability to develop new business as well as grow existing accounts
• Commercially aware and comfortable discussing pricing, margins and customer requirements
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills
• Self-motivated, organised and comfortable managing your own pipeline
• Full UK driving licence

Experience of laser cutting, plasma cutting, steel profiling, sheet metal processing or fabrication would be advantageous.
