Job summary

GEA in Eastleigh seeks an experienced Sales Manager to drive growth for our material handling and containment technologies across Europe. You will own the full sales cycle, coordinate with international teams and deliver innovative pharma solutions from our Core Technology Centre in Eastleigh.

The role requires an engineering degree, 5+ years in technical capital equipment sales, and a proven ability to manage complex negotiations with international customers. English fluency is essential.

• Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years in technical sales of capital equipment, preferably material handling or containment tech.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical Oral Solid Dosage processes and containment solutions.
• Proven track record managing complex sales opportunities and commercial negotiations.
• Experience with international customers and cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication and organisational skills; fluent English; proficient in CRM tools.

Our Eastleigh site is a Core Technology Centre for Oral Solid Dosage (OSD) manufacturing equipment, specialising in batch granulation, material handling and containment technologies.
We are looking for an experienced Sales Manager – Material Handling & Containment Technologies to drive the growth of our portfolio across Europe.
This is an opportunity to combine technical expertise with commercial ownership, working alongside international sales teams and engineering specialists to deliver innovative solutions to pharmaceutical manufacturers worldwide.

Responsibilities / Tasks

Reporting to the Sales Director, you will take commercial responsibility for our material handling and containment equipment portfolio , managing opportunities from initial enquiry through to contract award.

You will work closely with regional sales teams, customers and internal technical specialists to develop competitive solutions, secure orders and strengthen GEA’s position in the pharmaceutical market.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Drive sales growth: Manage the complete sales cycle, from opportunity qualification and customer engagement through to negotiation and order intake.
• Develop customer solutions: Translate technical requirements and User Requirement Specifications (URS) into effective material handling and containment solutions, supported by our engineering specialists.
• Prepare winning proposals: Develop competitive technical and commercial offers, including pricing, costing and customer presentations.
• Collaborate internationally: Partner with regional sales organisations, engineering, marketing and project teams to develop opportunities and deliver successful outcomes.
• Manage your pipeline: Maintain accurate opportunity forecasts, CRM records and timely follow-up throughout the sales process.
• Ensure successful handovers: Coordinate the transition of awarded projects to the execution teams

The position is based at our Core Technology Centre in Eastleigh, UK, with approximately 30% international travel.

Your Profile / Qualifications

We are looking for a commercially driven professional who combines technical understanding with strong customer engagement and sales skills.

• A degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• At least 5 years’ experience in technical sales of capital equipment, preferably involving material handling or containment technologies.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical Oral Solid Dosage manufacturing processes, with experience in powder handling, blending or containment solutions.
• A proven track record of managing complex sales opportunities, technical proposals and commercial negotiations.
• Experience working with international customers and cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication and organisational skills, with a proactive and results-oriented approach.
• Fluency in English and confidence using CRM and digital collaboration tools.

You will be comfortable taking ownership of opportunities, coordinating multiple stakeholders and developing long-term customer relationships.
