We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Sales Manager to lead our friendly sales team. Our ideal candidate will love cycling and be sustainably minded. These interests will propel you to develop a deep understanding of our products and personal relationships with our ever-expanding client base. You’ll work strategically and creatively to exceed sales targets and have an eye for improving best practice processes.Reporting to the Head of Commercial, you will be an important member of the management team responsible for maximising the sales team performance through effective people management, ensuring that key financial, operational and quality goals are consistently achieved.

You will be responsible for providing clear direction and guidance to the sales team, setting targets and continually reviewing team performance against them. You will be responsible for motivating, coaching and developing your team to achieve their full potential and to ensure they have the required skills to be successful.

Main responsibilities:

  • Proven motivational leadership skills with experience leading high performing teams
  • Successful experience of working within a management role
  • Experience in construction industry preferred
  • Resilient and persistent with a positive “can do” attitude
  • Create reports to track sales performance and report to senior leadership and C-Suite executives
  • Be effective at time management, managing emotions, and working to tight deadlines
  • Conduct regular meetings to execute deal strategies for each member of the sales team
  • Head up export sales in global territories exc. N. America
  • Researching, analysing and setting price points to maximise sales and maintain healthy profit margins
  • Ability to effectively delegate tasks while working collaboratively with other departments
  • Be persuasive and an active listener while remaining optimistic
  • Be adaptable to prioritise the ever-changing needs of the business
  • Train, develop, and coach new staff in prospecting, negotiating, and closing to successfully expand the team and help grow the company
  • Forecasting of pipeline to produce accurate data for stock management
  • Willing to continually grow, develop and learn new skills
  • Efficient self-starter with a strong work ethic and interest in best practice
  • Excellent relationship management skills and achieves high levels of service
  • Be able to develop sales strategies in line with the company goals and demonstrate strategic thinking.
  • Find creative, innovative solutions to client problems and be customer focused while demonstrating critical thinking skills
  • Be able to identify emerging opportunities and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition.
  • Be disciplined and highly motivated to achieve KPIs to agreed standards and inspire the team to do the same.
  • Be confident in communicating and negotiating clearly and be able to plan and organise your team to achieve targets.
  • Be able to identify opportunities to streamline business processes and systems.
  • Have an analytical approach with the ability to review data and create processes for continuous improvement.
  • Be honest and show integrity in your duties
  • Have a good network

Required skills and experience

  • Stable background in B2B sales (Ideally in the construction market).
  • An understanding of construction specification cycle.
  • Experience using CRM software.
  • Experience using MS Office applications.
  • Experience managing a small team within a SME.
  • A passion for sustainability and cycling.
