An exciting new business development has triggered the need to hire a future great finance professional into their well established company.

To be successful in this role you will be dynamic and proactive in your approach with a commercial mindset with some experience in a similar Sales Ledger and Credit Control role, but NOT ESSENTIAL, very happy to train and develop the right person in the role.

The candidate will need to be adaptable with a mindset of always looking to improve efficiencies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Enjoys being visible in the business and able to build lasting relationships in the company.

This really is a role that you can put your own stamp on. Importantly, the business is looking for a candidate to grow and progress with the company to help them achieve their strategic plan.

Ideally this person would be open to studying AAT.

Reporting to a dynamic Finance Manager, the Sales Ledger and Credit Controller will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the sales ledger, managing customer accounts, and ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts. This role is key to maintaining healthy cash flow and excellent customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Full ownership of the day to day running of the Sales Ledger and Credit Control function:

• Maintain and update the sales ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and promptly
• Raise and issue sales invoices in line with company policies and customer agreements
• Allocate incoming payments accurately to customer accounts
• Monitor customer accounts for overdue balances and take appropriate action to recover outstanding debts
• Liaise with customers via phone, email, and letter to chase payments
• Resolve invoice queries and disputes in a timely and professional manner
• Reconcile customer accounts and ensure accuracy of aged debt reports
• Prepare and distribute regular debtor reports to management
• Work closely with the sales and customer service teams to resolve account and billing issues
• Support month-end and year-end close processes related to accounts receivable
• Assist with ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis as required
