Job summary

Poundfield is seeking a proactive Sales Executive to join the Retaining Walls team in the UK. The role focuses on selling retaining wall products, developing new business, and managing projects from enquiry to completion.

You will engage with existing customers and new clients, interpret technical drawings, prepare quotations, and liaise with suppliers and internal teams. Office and site visits are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Experience in a sales, business development, or customer-facing commercial role.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
• Good numerical skills and attention to detail when preparing quotations and sourcing costs.
• Ability to understand technical drawings, or willingness to develop this skill.
• Proactive approach to identifying new business opportunities and developing customer relationships.
• Confidence working independently while contributing positively to a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full sales cycle for Poundfield's retaining wall products from enquiry to order.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers while identifying new business opportunities.
• Respond promptly to customer enquiries by telephone, email, and in person.
• Interpret technical drawings and prepare accurate, competitive project quotations.
• Develop understanding of products, manufacturing processes, and capabilities.
• Obtain and compare costs from suppliers to support procurement.
• Maintain commercial awareness and network within the industry.
• Use Barbour ABI to identify potential projects, leads, and BD opportunities.
• Visit customers for office meetings and site visits.
• Support the company's presence at trade shows, events, and CPD presentations.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the department to drive sales growth and customer satisfaction.
• Maintain high standards of accuracy, confidentiality, and adherence to quality, health & safety, and environmental policies.
