Job summary

Aspion is seeking an experienced Sales Estimator for their Birmingham base to cost and price quotations, reviewing drawings and requirements to determine manufacturing costs. You will play a key role in ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining margins.

The role involves liaising with customers, production, purchasing and sales to ensure accurate pricing and lead times, sourcing costs, negotiating with suppliers, and following up quotations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Sales Estimator within the fastener industry is essential.
• Proven experience costing and estimating jobs independently.
• Strong understanding of margins and profitability in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate quotations and cost estimates for customer inquiries and projects.
• Review customer drawings, specifications, and requirements to determine costs.
• Cost jobs independently, considering material, manufacturing, and operating costs.
• Liaise with customers to clarify technical and commercial requirements.
• Work with production, purchasing, and sales to ensure pricing and lead times.
• Source material and subcontract costs as needed.
• Negotiate pricing with suppliers to maximise profitability.
• Follow up quotations and identify opportunities to convert enquiries into orders.
• Maintain records of quotations, pricing structures and customer information.
• Provide technical and commercial support to customers.
• Monitor market trends and raw material costs.
• Support continuous improvement of estimating processes.
