Job summary

The Estimator position at Mansell Recruitment Group sits within a fast-paced engineering manufacturer, handling quotations from enquiry to final Costing. You will collaborate with Sales, Engineering and Production to interpret drawings, assess feasibility and calculate costs for bespoke projects.

The role requires strong Excel and ERP/CRM experience, excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise multiple bids to meet tight deadlines. A clear path for progression is offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in estimating, cost engineering or similar technical/commercial role.
• Manufacturing or engineering industry experience.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
• Experience with CRM or ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage the quotation process from enquiry through to customer submission.
• Review technical drawings and specifications to determine manufacturing requirements.
• Assess project feasibility and identify the most efficient production methods.
• Produce accurate cost estimates based on materials, manufacturing processes and lead times.
• Liaise with Engineering, Production, Purchasing and Sales to obtain technical and commercial information.
• Source material pricing and compare previous manufacturing data where appropriate.
• Prepare clear, accurate and competitive quotations within agreed timescales.
• Maintain quotation records using the company's CRM system.
• Prioritise multiple enquiries while meeting customer deadlines.
• Support continuous improvement of estimating processes and commercial activities.
• Work closely with the Sales team to develop competitive pricing strategies.
