Job summary

Aspion is seeking an experienced Sales Estimator in Birmingham for a fasteners manufacturer and supplier role. You will cost and price customer enquiries, interpret drawings, and work with production, purchasing and sales to ensure accurate pricing and timely quotes.

The ideal candidate has strong numerical and analytical skills, plus experience estimating jobs independently in the manufacturing sector. The role offers a Monday-Thursday 08:30-17:00 and Friday 08:00-16:30 schedule, with pension

Experience costing and estimating jobs independently.
Strong commercial awareness with margins and profitability.

Responsibilities

Prepare accurate quotations and cost estimates for customer enquiries and projects.
Review customer drawings, specs and requirements to determine costs.
Costing jobs independently considering material, manufacturing and operations costs.
Liaise with customers to clarify technical and commercial requirements.
Collaborate with production, purchasing and sales to ensure pricing and lead times.
Source material and subcontract costs as needed.
Negotiate pricing with suppliers to maximise profitability.
Follow up quotations and identify opportunities to convert enquiries.
Maintain records of quotations, pricing structures and customer information.
Provide technical and commercial support to customers.
Monitor market trends, raw material costs and competitor activity.
Support continuous improvement of estimating processes.
