Job summary

Demob Job Ltd is recruiting for a Sales Engineer for an established engineering business based in Basingstoke, Hampshire. The role involves selling specialist engineering equipment and technical solutions to customers across the UK and international markets.

It is a consultative sales position, suited to experienced Sales Engineers or engineers moving into technical sales. Travel across the UK and internationally is required; full product training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with customers at all levels.
• Commercially minded with ability to understand customer requirements and propose suitable solutions.
• Previous customer-facing engineering experience is advantageous.
• Electrical/electronic or technical engineering background is highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

Job description

I am recruiting for my client, an established engineering business based in Basingstoke, Hampshire. They are looking to recruit a Sales Engineer to join their team, selling specialist engineering equipment and technical solutions to customers across the UK and international markets.

This is a consultative sales position rather than a traditional business development role and could suit an experienced Sales Engineer or an electrical/electronics engineer looking to move into technical sales. You will work closely with customers to understand their technical requirements, recommend suitable solutions and manage opportunities through from initial enquiry to order. Full product training will be provided.

Sales Engineer Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
• Work closely with customers to understand their technical requirements and recommend suitable engineering solutions.
• Manage customer enquiries through quotation, negotiation and order placement.
• Sell a range of specialist capital equipment, spare parts, service contracts and technical solutions.
• Identify opportunities to develop existing accounts and generate new business.
• Conduct customer visits, technical discussions and presentations.
• Work closely with internal engineering and technical teams to develop appropriate customer solutions.
• Prepare commercial proposals and negotiate with customers.

Sales Engineer Requirements:

• Electrical, electronic or technical engineering background would be highly advantageous.
• Applications are welcomed from experienced Sales Engineers as well as engineers looking to develop their career within technical sales.
• Strong communication skills with the confidence to build relationships with customers at all levels.
• Commercially minded with the ability to understand customer requirements and identify suitable solutions.
• Previous customer facing engineering experience would be advantageous.
• Confident working independently and managing multiple customer requirements.
• Willing and able to undertake regular UK and international travel, including overnight stays when required.
• Full UK driving licence.

Sales Engineer Benefits:

• Basic salary up to £50,000 depending on experience.
• Commission scheme offering OTE up to £60,000.
