Job summary

Dr. Martens in York is seeking a Senior Sales Assistant for 30 hours per week at our York Outlet. Reporting to the Store Manager, you will deliver outstanding customer experiences, hit sales targets, and support daily operations in the absence of management.

You will supervise and mentor junior team members, handle tills and enquiries, and uphold H&S standards. A passion for fashion, strong communication, and a commercial mindset are essential; experience with a lifestyle brand is a bonus.

Qualifications

• Retail sales experience with targets
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Experience coaching or supervising junior staff
• Ability to act as key holder in manager's absence
• Familiarity with store operations and health & safety procedures

Responsibilities

• Achieve your own sales targets and motivate the team to reach theirs
• Provide excellent customer service at all times
• Follow store procedures for delivery, clock in/out, stock takes and replenishment
• Maintain a healthy, safe, and tidy work environment per H&S rules
• Handle till transactions and address complex customer enquiries
• Assist management in coaching and mentoring junior team members
• Act as key holder and assume store responsibility during manager absence
• Perform any other reasonable task as instructed by store management
• Experience as a key holder or supervisor with elevated sales responsibilities
• Experience with a fashion/lifestyle brand is a bonus

We're looking for a Senior Sales Assistant to join our fantastic York Outlet for 30 hours per week. THE GIG Reporting to the Store Manager, we are looking for a freethinking, passionate individual who will provide a one of a kind, outstanding customer experience and assist with day-to-day operations of the store in the absence of the Store Manager & Assistant Store Manager. THE STUFF THAT SETS YOU APART

• Achieving your own sales targets and motivating the team to reach theirs
• Provide excellent customer service at all times
• Follow all store operating procedures e.g. delivery, clock in/out, stock takes, replenishment etc
• Follow all H&S procedures to maintain a healthy, safe and tidy work environment
• Handle till transactions in line with operating procedures Handle more complex enquiries from customers
• Assist management team in coaching and mentoring more junior members of the team
• Act as key holder and assume responsibility for store for short periods in the absence of the manager
• Any other reasonable task as instructed by the store management team
  Similar experience in a key holder or supervisory role with elevated Sales Assistant responsibility
• Working with a fashion/lifestyle brand would be a bonus!
• Strong understanding of customer service and how this can be driven in a team
• Strong communication skills with the ability to inspire
• Commercial mindset - Experience with revenue-driving targets and the ability to support team members reaching them
